23 FINANCIAL & INSURANCE ASSISTANCE TBCC EMERGENCY ACCESS FUND In 2002, Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition established the Emergency Access Fund to provide financial assistance to individuals in financial need due to inability to work and or mounting medical expenses incurred while undergoing treatment of breast cancer. This fund provides assistance onetime during active treatment to help with rent, mortgage payments, paying utilities, insurance premiums and medical necessities not covered by insurance. Recipients must be US citizens, must have lived in Tennessee for at least one year, and currently undergoing active breast cancer treatments.
